On an entertaining day-long highlights tour, see the best of the Cape Peninsula and the Winelands. This region is well-known throughout the world for its breathtaking natural scenery. Mountain peaks with craggy peaks contrast with endless ocean vistas and lush green valleys. There are historical and modern sites, as well as fantastic activities, no matter where you go in the Cape. We will travel to the edge of Africa and then explore the heart of the mountainous Cape Winelands on this tour.
Travel to the top of Table Mountain by cable car (includes cableway ticket fee and weather permitting), then descend and pass through the Malay Quarter, city center, and Company Gardens. Visit the Castle of Good Hope (if time allows) and the Diamond Works.
Explore vast estates as we take you along the main route of the Cape Winelands through Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek. Relax in the shade of massive oak trees and towering mountains with views of lush valleys. Our Winelands tour is a full day of fine wines, delicious food, and breathtaking scenery.
This circular tour takes you to the seaside town of Hermanus via a mountain pass. This town, nestled between mountains and the sea, is not only picturesque, but it also provides some of the best shore-based whale watching opportunities in the world (August – November). The Southern Right whale is likely to be seen up close. Our journey continues into the beautiful Hemel en Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth) to the Bouchard Finlayson Wine Estate, where we are treated to a wine tasting.
We take a ferry from the V & A Waterfront to Robben Island. For nearly three centuries, Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years, was a place of isolation, housing many political prisoners and serving as both an asylum and a leprosy colony. Today, the island stands as a tangible symbol of political freedom and a reminder of South Africa’s difficult path to democracy.
Our Cape Peninsula tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburbs of Sea Point and Camps Bay to Hout Bay, one of Cape Town’s best-kept secrets. Here, you can take a short boat trip to Duiker Island (for own account and time permitting) to view the Cape Fur Seals which inhabit the island. From there we travel to the Cape Point, a breathtaking rocky promontory. The Cape Point tour returns to Cape Town by way of Simon’s Town where we visit the Penguin colony at Boulders beach (for own account) and Fish Hoek fishing village.
Discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley, with its picturesque vineyards, breathtaking scenery, warm hospitality, and fine wines. Travel through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus, stopping at some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates. Your storytelling guide will lead you through Franschhoek village, sharing the fascinating history of the French Huguenots. The tour concludes with a visit to Babylonstoren, a historic Cape Dutch farm founded in 1692 and home to one of the best-preserved farmyards in the Cape.
This is an excellent safari experience that is only a 2-hour drive from Cape Town. We travel up the N1 Highway, through the breathtaking Hex River Valley, to the Aquila Private Game Reserve. The reserve’s diverse environment ensures that avid wildlife watchers and birders will find plenty to keep them occupied. The reserve is home to Giraffe, Blesbok, Black and Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Springbok, Gemsbok Klipspringers, Duiker, Greybuck, Steenbok, Ostriches, Baboons, Caracal, Foxes, Jackal, Leopard, and 172 species of birds, including the Black Eagle. A knowledgeable Ranger will lead you on a game drive. We stop at the lodge for a delicious lunch.
Get up early, leave Cape Town, and travel to Gansbaai for a once-in-a-lifetime marine safari! Expert guides will take you on a tour of this incredible South African marine wilderness, which includes Great White sharks, African penguins, Cape fur seals, and a variety of seabirds.
This journey explores three South Africas: its origins, the Apartheid era, and the New South Africa. Starting in Cape Town’s Bo-Kaap, we trace the arrival of Dutch settlers in 1652, setting the stage for racial segregation. In District Six, once a thriving mixed-race community, we witness the effects of Apartheid’s forced removals. Finally, we visit Langa, Cape Town’s oldest Black African township, exploring the impact of Apartheid laws and stopping at the site of the 1976 student uprising.
